So, it’s not the vaccines, they are safe. It’s not GMO’s, they are safe. It’s not the adverse side effects from sped up food production. Pollution is not great, but that’s not it. It’s not the pesticides, they are safe. It’s not even the coal ash, the pollution, or toxic waste, it’s not junk food, it’s not this, it’s not that, it’s not… So what it is?? If those people who shout so loudly about it’s not any of these things, when they tell us we are paranoid and crazy for looking for answers in any these places, then I have to humbly ask, what it it?? Most of us know, in the end, it’s almost certainly a combination of these things, PLUS our genetic make-up and overall good, bad or marginal health.
I have to pose the question though, if it’s really none of these things, as many people believe, then what is it?? I have been going back and forwards for a long time, looking all this stuff up, reading about vaccines and toxic pollution and pesticides and the changing food industry practices, the advent of the garbage we are eating, the seeds we are growing, the chickens we are harvesting, etc. etc. I am painstakingly trying to read both sides, trying to decide what’s right for my family. You may assume I simply am sticking to a particular party line, I am not. All I am interested in is reliable, unbiased data, which is pretty tough to find. Anyway, I will provide some links below if you are interested in delving deeper into the world of maybe’s and what ifs… but first some fun facts:
According to the CDC: “Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. About one in six children in the U.S. have one or more developmental disabilities or other developmental delays.”
“The American Psychiatric Association states in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) that 5% of children have ADHD1. However, studies in the US have estimated higher rates in community samples.”
“About 1 in 88 children has been identified with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.”
Tourette Syndrome “It is not known exactly how many people have Tourette Syndrome (TS). A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study has found that 3 of every 1,000 children 6 through 17 years of age and living in the United States have been diagnosed with TS based on parent report; this represents about 148,000 children. Other studies using different methods have estimated the rate of TS at 6 per 1,000 children.”
Until YOU are the parent of one of these “statistics” you can’t really understand what the frustration is and how soul destroying it can be to be ridiculed or overlooked. No answers, no reasons, no solutions and worse, judgement from every single person who thinks it’s all down to bad parenting, bad eating, too much TV, video games, peer pressure, bad juju.. who knows, it just can’t possibly be something we are doing to ourselves! All I am saying is, why is it justified to vilify those asking why, what, where, whom?? Why is no one asking HOW do we figure this out, except frustrated physicians and parents of these children? Why has it become an “us against them” here, why are the people who are on either side of this debate not discussing (in panic) why our future system is going to be overwhelmed with adults who are unable to care for themselves, why are the same people not coming together to figure – if not all those things, then what??? Where are the scientific studies, where are the data tables for causation, where?? How do we turn this thing around?
So some of the rudimentary data as promised (there are volumes of blogs, papers, articles, etc. out there regarding anecdotal evidence, I urge you to research and read those as well) in the meantime, to get started:
Is it the mercury? FDA response: “Thimerosal is a mercury-containing organic compound (an organomercurial). Since the 1930s, it has been widely used as a preservative in a number of biological and drug products, including many vaccines, to help prevent potentially life threatening contamination with harmful microbes. Over the past several years, because of an increasing awareness of the theoretical potential for neurotoxicity of even low levels of organomercurials and because of the increased number of thimerosal containing vaccines that had been added to the infant immunization schedule, concerns about the use of thimerosal in vaccines and other products have been raised. Indeed, because of these concerns, the Food and Drug Administration has worked with, and continues to work with, vaccine manufacturers to reduce or eliminate thimerosal from vaccines.” Use the link to go and read the various cited studies from the bibliography.
“FDA’s guideline is based in part on a maximum tolerable daily intake of 30 µg/day of methylmercury from the diet; for purposes of comparison this would translate to approximately 0.43 micrograms/kg/day for a 70 kg adult. The FDA recommends that pregnant women, women of childbearing age who may become pregnant, nursing mothers and young children do not consume certain kinds of fish that may contain high levels of methylmercury (i.e., shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish); read data here.”
Educate yourself on methylmercury and ethylmercury, both here and here. Read as much as possible, educate yourself on why and why not, to really be sure, one has to know why one is considered safer than the other.
What else to worry about besides the thimerosal? Vaccine Ingredients, a comprehensive guide.
Who is Dr. Paul Offit? Who is Dr. Bob Sears. Who is Dr. Palevsky. Who is Dr. Andrew Wakefield. I urge you to Google these people as well. Read both sides of why people love or hate these people.
Who are the NVIC? “The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) is a national charitable, non-profit educational organization founded in 1982. NVIC launched the vaccine safety and informed consent movement in America in the early 1980’s and is the oldest and largest consumer led organization advocating for the institution of vaccine safety and informed consent protections in the public health system.”
How to register an adverse event, where to research already identifiable events. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) “The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is a national vaccine safety surveillance program co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). VAERS is a post-marketing safety surveillance program, collecting information about adverse events (possible side effects) that occur after the administration of vaccines licensed for use in the United States.”
Ok, so that’s plenty of information to get going; however, this is not where the story ends by any stretch of the imagination. Next start to gather information on food production, seed production, pesticides, bees, and a plethora of other topics that will either make your hair stand on end or encourage you to build that bunker and start prepping to hunker down. In the end, it’s all about perspective! Once armed with knowledge, we can tackle anything, simply sticking our heads in the sand is no longer an option. As the tag line goes: “The more you read, the more you know!”
[…] I have avoided for so long. I know many of you have followed our journey for a long time, and vaccines have only been mentioned fleetingly. It has been a purposeful omission on my part. I have seen how […]
