Our Journey to Healing
During the past 13 years, I have spent every waking moment (and many sleeping moments) thinking, doing and trying different treatments for the various letter disorders given to our children (we started with PDD-NOS then Autism and have changed or added acronyms 16 different times). We eventually settled on the idea that both children have encephalitis – is it still Autism, is it PANS triggered by LYME, Mold and other nefarious wee beasties? Is it PANDAS – is there strep? Is it Bipolar, ADHD, depression, trauma or are we are just in denial? I have spent years threatening to write a book titled “Dancing Naked Around Bonfires and Other Cures for Autism” because as we refused to let go of hope, it appeared that this may actually be the lengths we needed to go to, to help our children become well. This is our journey loving our kids through a spectrum of challenges to restore their health.
